My main achievements here were installation and maintenance of Private Cloud systems for customers, planning and deploying complex production environments based on Linux.
Private Cloud systems based on CA Applogic (ex-3tera) platform, with hardware nodes/network equipment create one big system called Grid. Customers have ability to build complex virtual environment on the top of Grid and use many virtual appliances which represent SaaS and PaaS, I was their system architect and consultant.
Deploying various systems for customers such as web servers, database clusters, complex e-mail systems, load balancers, virtual NAS storage’s, backup systems.
My best project was creating complex e-mail system template on the top of CA Applogic environment, which was one of first SaaS templates in the Cloud market in Serbia.
Also, I was attending many meetings with our sales teams and customers as technical assistant/consultant.
My duties were:
- Installation of CA Applogic Grids (Private clouds) within 1 working day after customer’s order
- Maintenance and patching Grid nodes
- Maintenance and patching shared Linux hosting servers mainly through SSH but also via GUI for Ensim, Plesk and Cpanel.
- Deploying complex e-mail servers based on Linux+Postfix+Spamassassin+Mysql+Dovecot+Amavisd+webmail+iptables+backup
- Managing Xen Dom0/DomU virtual machines/networking devices
- Deploying web/database servers, backups, optimizing servers.
- Python/Bash scripting
- Security, detection and cleaning servers root-kits, applying best practices

- planning/installing networks at customer facilities and offices
- structural cabling for various purposes.
- writing bash scripts for our internal usage (reports, monitoring).
This was my first job and it gave me great experience with many problem-solving situations and also very good understanding of how big ISP works.
